Grant leaned back on an alley wall as he slowly exhaled a puff of smoke. He expected the capital to be a haven for trouble but not to this extent. This particular business with Tesla Industries wouldn't have bothered Grant in the least but it was his Bertigo that he saw and fought. Their human counter parts weren't pushovers either as they were definitely a level above Grant and that other detective. He flicked the burned out stick into a puddle of water as he waited. --- It has been years since Keren was last called to duty but her client was not exactly a person you can say no to. Besides, she considered the old man as her second father and it would be rude not to pay him a visit. She kept to crowded streets and stopped at sideshops in random intervals, mindful of her surroundings at all times. Keren was many things but she wasn't the type to be complacent. She knew a lot of people who were better than her but now there's six feet of ground separating Keren from them. After a few more sets of twists and turns, she arrived at her destination. Keren saw the figure resting his back on the wall and she smiled as she approached. --- "You gathered this much in three hours?" Grant asked, as he flipped through some of the pages in the folder Keren handed to him. "Two," Keren replied as she removed her cap and let her long dark hair fall to her shoulders. "I took my time and picked up a few things for myself along the way. I hope you don't mind." "I'd rather not ask." |
